Powering Progress Across Africa: Ongoing Commercial & Industrial Projects
ACES Renewables is dedicated to propelling sustainable development through its wide-ranging portfolio of projects across Africa. We focus on innovative energy solutions to cater to the escalating power demands of various regions. Here’s a detailed glimpse into our ongoing ventures:

Kenya: Tana Biogas Solar Hybrid Power Plant
- The Tana Biogas Solar Hybrid Plant in Malindi represents a groundbreaking synergy between biogas and solar technologies.
- The project is in active Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) negotiations with various commercial and industrial companies—a crucial step towards bringing this hybrid generation facility online.
- The plant is poised to deliver 10 MW of solar and 10 MW of biogas power. With a planned Financial Close (FC) slated for 2025 and a Commercial Operation Date (COD) set for 2026, this project positions us at the forefront of hybrid renewable energy generation in Kenya, demonstrating our commitment to diversifying energy sources and enhancing grid stability.
Uganda: Unergy Power Plant
- In Masindi, the Unergy Battery Storage Plant (BESS) is a testament to our approach to sustainable energy production.
- We are finalising a feasibility study that will cater to Uganda's Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) requirements.
- The planned timeline sets the FC for 2025 and the COD for 2026.
South Africa: Cullinan Solar PV Power Plant
- Our Cullinan Solar PV project, a large-scale solar power plant, is in the final permitting phase. Situated in Cullinan, the 153 MW plant has secured agreements with off-takers for the generated energy and confirmed sufficient grid capacity from Eskom.
- The project aims for a Financial Close in the second quarter of 2025, with the Commercial Operation Date 2026.
- This project epitomises our strategic approach to meeting South Africa's electricity needs, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting economic growth through sustainable energy.
South Africa: Ravenna Solar Power Plant
- Similarly, the Ravenna Solar Power Plant in Benoni is advancing through the final permitting stages. With a capacity of 10 MW, this small-scale plant has confirmed grid capacity through the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (CEL) and is scheduled for FC and COD in 2025. Despite its smaller scale, the Ravenna project is vital in strengthening local energy resilience and demonstrates our agility in addressing diverse energy demands.
- We sold this project in December 2024.
- Through these carefully planned projects, ACES Renewables is steadfast in delivering reliable, clean energy solutions to African industries and communities.
- Each project underscores our dedication to sustainable development, reflecting significant strides towards a future powered by renewable energy.
- From hybrid plants to specialised solar installations, we aim to support progressive energy initiatives that align with environmental stewardship and regional economic advancement.
With a robust strategy and unwavering commitment, ACES Renewables is poised to thrive in Africa’s dynamic energy landscape.
