Corporate Social Responsibility

At ACES Renewables, our commitment to sustainability goes beyond delivering clean energy solutions. We believe that renewable energy should not only power industries and businesses but also uplift communities, protect the environment, and create lasting economic opportunities. Through our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives, we actively contribute to education, economic development, and environmental conservation in the regions where we operate.

Empowering Communities Through Education

Recognising the challenges many young people face in accessing quality education, ACES Renewables has made it a priority to invest in initiatives that support students in underserved communities.

One of our key programs is our partnership with the Victoria Falls University of Technology in Zambia.

As part of our commitment to education, we are providing scholarship funding to support secondary school bursaries for disadvantaged adolescent girls. Many families struggle with the cost of secondary education, making it difficult for girls to complete their schooling. By funding bursaries, we are helping to break down financial barriers and create opportunities for a brighter future.

Additionally, our partnership with the university extends to skills development and training in the renewable energy sector. Students gain hands-on experience with solar energy projects, enhancing their technical expertise and employability. This initiative not only supports individual students but also strengthens the local workforce by developing skilled professionals in the growing clean energy industry.

Supporting Economic Development and Job Creation

ACES Renewables understands that energy access is a catalyst for economic growth. Our projects not only generate clean power but also create employment and business opportunities that drive local economies forward.

The Kazungula Solar PV Project in Zambia is a prime example of how our initiatives contribute to economic development. During its construction phase, the project is expected to create 120 jobs, with a strong focus on inclusivity—40 positions will be filled by women, and 25 by young workers. Once operational, the facility will support 20 permanent jobs, while also creating an estimated 50 indirect employment opportunities through local businesses and suppliers.

Beyond job creation, we are committed to supporting local enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). In Kazungula, a rapidly growing town that has seen increased economic activity following the completion of the Zambezi bridge, we are exploring opportunities to develop a mini-grid or off-grid energy solution in partnership with ZESCO. This initiative would provide reliable electricity to the town’s expanding SME sector, further boosting economic development.

Promoting Environmental Sustainability

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our CSI efforts extend beyond renewable energy production to ensuring that our projects actively contribute to environmental conservation and carbon reduction.

The Kazungula Solar PV Project is designed to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and cut greenhouse gas emissions. By providing clean energy to a Copperbelt mine, the project will help transition industrial operations away from carbon-intensive electricity sources, supporting Zambia’s national and international climate commitments, including the goals of the Paris Accord.

Moreover, we implement Environmental Management Programs (EMPrs) to minimise any ecological impact of our projects. These programs include land rehabilitation, biodiversity conservation, and measures to prevent pollution. By integrating sustainable practices into our operations, we ensure that our projects not only generate clean energy but also preserve the natural environment for future generations.

Local Partnerships and Social Responsibility

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our CSI efforts extend beyond renewable energy production to ensuring that our projects actively contribute to environmental conservation and carbon reduction.

Strong partnerships are essential for impactful community development. ACES Renewables collaborates with local governments, regulatory bodies, and non-governmental organisations to maximise the reach and effectiveness of our CSI programs.

In Zambia, we work closely with the Ministry of Energy, the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA), and ZESCO to align our projects with national energy and development goals. Our partnership with local consultants ensures that feasibility studies and construction efforts provide employment opportunities for local professionals and labourers.

Beyond energy and education, we are committed to broader social responsibility initiatives. A portion of our project revenue is dedicated to supporting local non-profits and social enterprises, including programs that empower women entrepreneurs and fund community development projects. By reinvesting in the communities where we operate, we create a positive, long-lasting impact that extends far beyond energy generation.

A Commitment to a Sustainable Future

At ACES Renewables, our vision extends beyond delivering clean energy—we are dedicated to building resilient, empowered, and environmentally sustainable communities. Through our Corporate Social Investment initiatives, we are driving positive change by supporting education, fostering economic growth, and protecting the planet.

As we continue to expand our renewable energy projects across Africa, we remain committed to creating opportunities for individuals, businesses, and communities to thrive. Our partnerships, social programs, and sustainability initiatives reflect our belief that a greener future must also be a more inclusive and equitable one.

We invite stakeholders, partners, and communities to join us on this journey as we work together to bridge borders, empower lives, and build a cleaner, more sustainable world.
