Our Leadership Team
At ACES Renewables, we are guided by a team of seasoned and visionary professionals dedicated to advancing Africa’s renewable energy transformation. Our executive leadership team combines decades of expertise, strategic foresight, and a proven track record of success within the renewable energy sector.
Frans Visscher was appointed CEO of ACES Renewables in June 2024, bringing over 15 years of experience within the renewable energy sector. His distinguished career includes senior roles at some of the global frontrunners in renewable energy. Frans has held various executive committee positions at Suzlon Energy Ltd, a world leader in wind energy, and served as Vice Chairman of RePower (later Senvion), a German-based company specialising in offshore wind projects across Europe and North America. His expertise encompasses renewable energy, hydrogen, infrastructure, logistics, and real estate. Furthermore, Frans serves as a Non-Executive Director and advisor for several companies within the Skeiron Group, where he continues to be involved in advancing clean energy projects. Frans holds dual master’s degrees from the University of Leiden, one in Law and another in International Relations, further enriching his strategic vision and leadership capabilities.
Dave Kruger is a trailblazer within Africa's clean energy industry. In 2007, he established South Africa Clean Energy Solutions Limited, capitalising on the burgeoning renewable energy market within the region. Under Dave's leadership, the group underwent a significant restructuring in 2017, culminating in forming ACES Renewables in Mauritius. This restructuring enabled ACES Renewables to become the holding company and facilitated its subsequent listing on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius, marking a transformative phase of expansion and opportunity. Dave's leadership and comprehensive industry knowledge have been pivotal to the success of ACES Renewables.
Our Non-Executive Board Members
ACES Renewables is guided by a distinguished panel of non-executive board members whose diverse backgrounds and extensive experience significantly enhance our strategic vision and growth. Their expertise spans architecture, finance, international business, and strategic consulting, positioning ACES Renewables for success in Africa’s renewable energy sector.
Mr Gaetan Siew provides invaluable leadership and strategic insight as an Independent Non-Executive Director at ACES Renewables. Previously serving as the President of the International Union of Architects and Secretary-General of the African Union of Architects, Gaetan boasts a wealth of experience in global and regional architectural and development initiatives. He currently chairs the Port Louis Development Initiative and acts as the Special Envoy for UN Habitat, advocating for sustainable urban development. Gaetan’s governance, development, and sustainable design expertise is instrumental in shaping the company’s strategic direction.
Mrs Toorisha Nakey-Kurnauth is a seasoned financial professional underpinned by a robust academic foundation. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Finance with Law from the University of Mauritius and is in the final stages of completing her ACCA qualification. Toorisha's profound knowledge of finance and legal expertise deliver critical strategic value to the board, particularly in financial governance and compliance. Her unique skill set aids ACES Renewables in its mission to deliver sustainable and profitable energy projects across Africa.
Mr Antoine King, with over 30 years of experience across various industries and continents, brings extensive knowledge in project management, finance, and strategic planning to the board. Having worked in Kenya, the USA, China, and the UK, Antoine has advised international enterprises, enhancing their global operations and strategic objectives. His diverse expertise further solidifies ACES Renewables’ commitment to excellence in Africa's renewable energy landscape. Antoine has held senior positions at Deloitte in London and has consulted for listed companies on strategy and finance. He also served as part of the London Business School's advisory network. Antoine’s global perspective and strategic insight support the company’s efforts to navigate complex projects and markets.
Our Management Team
Padmini Moodly brings over 30 years of extensive experience in finance, spanning roles in auditing, financial management, business management, and CFO positions. Her career includes work in diverse sectors such as auditing, mining, government institutions, consultancy, and renewable energy. This broad expertise enables her to oversee and manage all financial activities within the company effectively.
Mrs Maseeha Chothia is a smart, ambitious young lawyer with previous experience as an associate attorney at Werkman’s Attorney, an A-brand Johannesburg law firm. She has extensive expertise in the renewable energy sector and is highly skilled in contract management and negotiations.
Tumelo Lekalakala has extensive experience across diverse electrical engineering sectors, including mining, green energy solutions, and electrical maintenance. As the Group Operations Director at ACES Renewables, Tumelo designs solar systems, oversees project management, and spearheads business development initiatives. He also oversees procurement, project operations, and maintenance, ensuring seamless execution and attentive customer care throughout the project lifecycle. The operations team at ACES Renewables, with various dedicated and highly competent employees, is resolutely committed to the successful implementation and enduring sustainability of our clean energy projects throughout Africa. Each member contributes strong expertise and practical experience across various dimensions of renewable energy, project management, and customer care. Collectively, they ensure that ACES Renewables operates effectively, delivers tangible results, and consistently meets client expectations.
